Read this before you get started

1. Spinnaker Alerts 2B is the beta of an excel add-in that Alerts you to critical values in your worksheet by means of audio, pop-up messaging, paging, and logging of critical events in Microsoft Excel 97 and later

2. There are no limitations on the distribution of this software.

4. This add-in will be shareware. The registration fee is $90.00 without E-mail paging and $150.00 with E-mail paging.

5. A NewAlertsStockTest.xls workbook is included that provides a way to quickly test the add-in without having to go through the setup procedure. Simply open the workbook and the add-in, click on Activate alerts and let the query refresh itself. The alert will usually go off instantly.

note: if the setup.exe does not work correctly on your computer, you can also start alerts simply by doubleclicking on the file named: "alerts.xla"

For this add-in to function properly, your pc needs Outlook 97/98/2000 (for the paging feature).

August 15, 1999. beta Release 1.00B:

December 4, 1999. Release 1.1:
Paging added, User interface improved, bugs removed.

March 21, 2000 Release 2.0 Beta:
Add-in basically rewritten, Ready for a 2 + month test period by users.

March 28, 2000 release 2.0 Beta revised:
Add-in can now set the refresh interval for webqueries with the "Set Alert Options" dialog.

April 10, 2000 revision: When using Windows NT, pop-up messaging didn't work. This is now fixed.

May 16, 2000: a setup program was added. two serious bugs were removed. One prevented the add-in to run on a system without Outlook 97/98 or 2000 installed. the other crashed the code, or even Excel when using queries with Excel unattended to in minimized mode.

September 12, 2000 version 2.03 is released. A few user input errors are now impossible.
